Mission of DARC


 
To raise the awareness of parents, students, adults with  dyslexia and/or attention deficit disorder, educators, law enforcement agencies, employers, and health professionals of dyslexia - a specific language disability - and the characteristics that often accompany dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.

To establish an informal resource center that provides literature, video and audio tapes, and book lists from local, state and federal resources.

To assist those with dyslexia and/or attention deficit disorder in learning how they function.

To provide information on dyslexia and attention deficit disorder in Spanish.



To provide support to teenagers with dyslexia and/or attention deficit disorder  in search of answers about dyslexia and attention deficit disorder at this critical time of development in their education and future planning.

To provide information and support to those with dyslexia and attention deficit disorder and employers of those with dyslexia and/or attention deficit disorder in the workplace.

To provide advocacy training workshops for parents in pursuit of educational help for their children with dyslexia and/or attention deficit disorder.

To provide presentations for the educational community and the general public to pinpoint the characteristics of dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.
